How to get there

From Copenhagen you can reach Aalborg by hourly trains – a journey that takes around 4 comfortable hours through the beautiful Danish landscape. The rail net also connects Aalborg with the nearby ferry ports of Frederikshavn and Hirtshals with several daily connections to Norway and Sweden.

Arriving by car from southern Europe you will find that Aalborg is situated directly at European highway 7 (E45).

Aalborg Airport (AAL), the main gateway to North Denmark, is conveniently situated just a short 10 minute transfer from downtown Aalborg. The airport is linked with Copenhagen by around 40 daily flights apart from direct flights from Oslo, Reykjavik, Faroe, Islands, and London. To get to the city centre from Aalborg Airport take the public buses - they run Monday-Friday every 15 min./30 min. during the day and once an hour during the evening. Saturday 30 min./hour and Sunday once an hour. Find the exact and updated departure and arrival times for the public buses on the travel planner (to the left). Please note that you need to use the local currency in the bus. There is an ATM in the airport where you can withdraw money. Taxis are also available (approx. 150 DKK – or 20 €). They accept the most common international credit cards.

Quality Hotel Aalborg

Quality Hotel Aalborg**** (built in 2002) lies in direct connection to Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre, only 10 minutes walk from the city centre, 200 m from the railway station and about 7 km from Aalborg Airport. The hotel has 168 rooms. All rooms have wireless internet connection, cable TV, TV pay/view, hair dryer and trouser press. The hotel has a bar, and next to the hotel you find Restaurant Papegøjehaven. Quality Hotel Aalborg is a non-smoking hotel. Parking is possible in the closed underground car park of the hotel.

Helnan Phønix Hotel

Helnan Phønix Hotel**** is Aalborg’s largest and oldest hotel (converted into hotel in 1853) situated in the heart of the city and in walking distance to most of the attractions and sights and only 2 minutes walk from the famous restaurant and bar street, Jomfru Ane Gade. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the railway station, 5 minutes walk from Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre and about 6 km from Aalborg Airport.

The hotel offers parking area, fitness center with sauna, solarium, jacuzzi and nice, cosy patios.

The charming rooms have been gently renovated in the right spirit of the hotel, and they are equipped with all modern facilities such as free wireless internet, TV, radio and hair dryer.

Radisson SAS Limfjord Hotel Aalborg

Radisson SAS Limfjord Hotel**** lies in the centre of Aalborg with a beautiful view of the town and the inlet Limfjorden, only 1 km from the railway station and about 6 km from Aalborg Airport.

The hotel has 188 rooms. All rooms have wireless internet, telephone, mini bar, cable TV, film channel and hair dryer. The hotel offers non-smoking rooms. Restaurant “Kong Richard” and Sunshine Bar as well as the casino of the hotel offer the perfect conditions for a nice and cosy ending of a busy conference day.

During the stay parking is possible in the underground car park of the hotel.
